Braak-ing News: Stock Soars for First American Trust CIO
Stocks go up. Stocks go down. They can be as predictable as the bounce of a football. As such, media regularly clamor for insights on the volatility. Longtime HKA client Jerry Braakman – the Chief Investment Officer at First American Trust – has become a go-to favorite among media looking for someone to provide reliable and steady commentary about an ever-fickle stock market. With a new Presidential administration in place and uncertainty in the air, HKA has guided esteemed media from blue-chip outlets to Jerry to help make sense of it all. Since the start of 2017, his commentary has appeared in USA Today, CNBC.com and the Los Angeles Times, analyzing the so-called “Trump Rally” as well as the shaky status of the airline industry. As the economic landscape continues to shift, expect to see much more Braak-ing news.
USA Today Braces for Aspen Medical Products
Aspen Medical Products, a global leader in the design, development and marketing of upper and lower spinal orthotics (and also one of HKA’s newest clients), was featured in USA Today last month. As part of its multidimensional communications work, HKA secured and created an advertorial for Aspen in the nation’s largest newspaper. The piece not only provided valuable information about Aspen’s industry-changing Peak Scoliosis Bracing System™, it also raised awareness about a disturbing condition affecting an estimated three million Americans – adult scoliosis. Typically associated with children, scoliosis also impacts adults who too often accept their back pain as a symptom of aging or resort to addictive painkillers and invasive surgeries. In the months ahead, HKA will continue to support Aspen in its quest to help adult scoliosis sufferers find safe relief from pain.
A One-Two Punch
When HKA makes a new hire, we talk about it. We’re communicators. So, we communicate. However, as the agency recently brought aboard two top-notch PR professionals in the same quarter, it’s worth proclaiming loudly and proudly from our Tustin rooftop. In February, Paige Peabody joined HKA after working in public affairs for several years at Trinity Industries, Inc., a publicly traded Dallas-based Fortune 500 manufacturing company. Paige is an Assistant Account Manager primarily supporting our financial services clients. In March, we added new Account Manager Delaine Moore to the HKA family. Delaine was previously the Director of Communications at the Orange County Business Council and will lead a variety of HKA accounts, including many high-profile nonprofit and B2B clients. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome this knockout combination.
Big Media for Bigs with Big Hearts
When Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire announced Jessica Romley (OC) and Tom Caporale (IE) as its 2017 Bigs of the year on Thank You Mentor Day, HKA made noise with local media to celebrate the “Big” impact Jessica and Tom had on their “Littles.” HKA secured several moving print articles in targeted publications, including The Press Enterprise, The Sun, Champion Newspapers, Orange City News and Parenting OC. The agency also iced the media cake with an extremely heartwarming People Making a Difference broadcast segment on KCBS. HKA has its sights set on even more media opportunities, as Jessica was selected in February by the 15 California Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliates to compete for the national Big of the Year award in June. Stay tuned!
